Supply Chain, Information Sciences & Technology Minor - SCIST 2006—2008

SCIST Minor Application

Overview


The minor in SCIST is structured to provide students not majoring in Supply Chain & Information Systems (SC&IS) or Management Information Systems (M I S) with the opportunity to develop working knowledge of information technology, supply chain management, and their interdisciplinary synergies. The joint minor is designed for professional careers in business, information systems, software development, consulting, and government. The successful minor must, at a minimum, possess basic knowledge of quantitative techniques, computer applications, and microeconomics.

A grade of "C" or higher is required in all courses for the SCIST minor.


SCIST Requirements — 2006 through 2008


  1. Take all of the following IST courses (10 credits)
    1. IST 110 (3) Information, People, and Technology
    2. IST 210 (4) Organization of Data
    3. IST 220 (3) Networking and Telecommunications
  2. Take all of the following Supply Chain courses (8 credits)
    1. B A 302 (2) Supply Chains
    2. SCM 404 (3) Demand Fulfillment
    3. SCM 405 (3) Manufacturing and Services Strategies

Application Procedure


  1. Download the SCIST Minor Application and fill it out with your academic adviser.
  2. Set up an appointment and meet with Jeanie Peritz in the College of Information Sciences and Technology.
  3. Upon acceptance to the minor, a student is officially entered in the minor and a $750.00 non-refundable fee is assessed that night.
